As the sun sets over the Dutch town of Haarlem, a group of men gather to discuss the future of their country. The year is 1942, and the Nazis have occupied Holland. The Resistance Banker tells the story of one man’s brave attempt to save his country from economic ruin and oppression.
The film follows Walraven van Hall (Barry Atsma), a banker who takes it upon himself to fund the resistance movement in Holland. Along with his brother Gijs (Jacob Derwig), Walraven sets up an underground banking system to distribute funds to those fighting against the Nazis.
As Walraven becomes more involved with the resistance, he puts himself and his family in danger. But he refuses to back down, determined to do whatever it takes to win the war.
