When it comes to an action-packed adventure with a dash of romance, “The Adventurers” is the movie to watch. Directed by Stephen Fung, this 2017 Hong Kong-Chinese film stars Jean Reno, Andy Lau, and Qi Shu. The movie is a remake of John Woo’s 1991 film “Once a Thief.”
The storyline of “The Adventurers” revolves around Dan Zhang (Andy Lau), a notorious and talented thief who has been released from prison. He is immediately recruited by his former partner in crime, Chen (Tony Yang), for a new job: steal two antique Chinese scrolls worth millions of dollars from a highly secure European auction house.
Dan agrees to the job but plans to double-cross Chen and keep the scrolls for himself. He hires a team of international thieves to assist him in the heist, including French master thief Pierre (Jean Reno) and tech-savvy Yoko (Qi Shu).
